Moots Mooto XZ 29er 19” Full Suspension Titanium Mountain Bike. Up for grabs is my 2008 Moots Mooto XZ 29er 19” Mountain Bike. The frame is in great condition, but shows some minor scratches here and there, nothing major or deep. The rear triangle has some paint rubbed off from contact with the tire as well as some peeled off from decal replacement. The Sram XO components shows their age, but operationally still work perfectly. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. For reference, I'm 6'0 tall and find this 19" frame is an ideal fit for me. The rear end is surprisingly rigid and almost completely mechanicallyneutral. Loosing the pivot at the rear axle eliminates that nasty flex thatcauses ghost shifting and wheel sway. This is a perfect suspension design atthe right level of plush for these large wheels! The over-all fabrication ofthe aluminum swingarm is finely executed and the powdercoat finish is lush. It simply flies over rough stuff.This bike's most remarkable advantage on smooth rock is its ability to "sidehill." We have found that low-gear climbing of steep rock facesis greatly enhanced by the ability to maneuver across the face of the rock, tot urn in any direction in spots where a 26 inch wheel would require quite a bit more work. This effect makes up for a lot of the extra energy it takes to torque the wheels around. For those looking for the best all-around big wheel suspension bike, here it is, the Moots XZ. You just cannot beat the XZ for all-around everywhere performance. If you want a bike for rides that include pavement, fire roads, dirt roads, and every sort of trail, there is no question that the Moots is the very best in our quiver. From Moots:Brad Bingham Moots production head, designed the Mooto-XZ and it is based on their Zirkelmodel. The Zirkel is a Matched Arc (MARC) suspension system and has no pivot at the rear axle. The Mooto-XZ uses the MARC system from the Zirkel, hence the name Mooto-XZirkel. Obviously its geometry was tweaked to work as a 29er. The front triangle is made from 3/2.5 grade titanium and the rear triangle is Sapa manufactured 6061 series aluminum. According to Moots a titanium rear triangle just doesn't work very well, so they went with an aluminum rear end.Shipping: I will only ship to the lower 48 states.
