Olds Super Trumpet Two Tone Raw Brass circa 1947-48The bells were lightweight and reinforced with a "tone ring", and the nickel trim on the body adds some “pop” to the sound. These horns are fantastic for jazz, commercial, and lead playing and really sizzle in the high register. Every attribute of the superfine trumpet has been achieved and surpassed in this product of Olds' genius. Extremely easy blowing, light weight, perfect balance with a richness and depth of tone never before attained. The spun reinforcing band around the bell, the proportions of bore and taper, the comfortable hand-hold, the exact balance and the streamline design make this horn a true realization of the fine players' ideals. Polished brass and nickel silver trim bell band and trimming made of the finest nickel silver. Neatly engraved on bell band. Made in Los Angeles, California USA F. E. Olds and Sons Super OldsAs far as I can gather with research the serial number puts it's origin of manufacture around 1947-48. Thank you for your interest and happy bidding.
