Vintage Martin Custom RMC Trumpet Comes with original case and Bach 7c MouthpieceSerial Number #219xxx Red Brass Bell Great flare.460 bore (ML) Polished Raw Brass1st valve finger hookModelMartin Custom (possibly Magna) Model - circa 1962-63DescriptionDesigned in part by the same Committee of instrument makers that conceptualized the world renowned ‘Martin Committee’ trumpet, the early RMC custom horns were reputed to have been more influenced by Renold Schilke. (Although he would have had you believe the Committee was completely his design as well…) While the Committee trumpets were made for a long extended period of time, and found in the hands of just about any legendary Jazz trumpeter at one point or another, (Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Chet Baker, Bill Chase, Maynard Ferguson, Art Farmer, Kenny Dorham, Roy Eldridge, (and many more) and still being played by a LOT of cats today, including Chris Botti) the RMC custom instruments were only produced for a short period of time. By nature, these instruments were also considered ‘Custom’ trumpets, so large production runs don’t seem to have ever happened. These horns incorporated some of the finer qualities found with the famous Martin Committee, however have some pretty nice revisions designed to make the horns more versatile overall. Some of the custom tweaks on this horn include: High Copper content belltotally revised bracing and trimadded brace on the main tuning slideNickel inner slide tubes ConditionThis instrument is in excellent condition. No dents small ding on bellValves have surprisingly good compression with Yamaha Vintage piston oil. No red rot anywhere.
