This is a lovely Ivory Platter that will grace any table. Perfect for unique occasion or daily use. Northfield is found by the Shore minutes from Atlantic City NJ. Lenox is an American business that sells tabletop, giftware and collectible products offered under the Lenox, Dansk and Gorham brand names. They are the only major maker of bone china in the United States. Lenox was established in 1889 by Walter Scott Lenox as Lenox's Ceramic Art Company, Trenton, New Jersey. From the start it was arranged as an art studio and not as a factory. It did not produce a complete range of ceramic posts however rather one-of-a-kind artwares. The business initially had just eighteen workers. Lenox's products were first shown at The Smithsonian Institution in 1897.Lenox's products became popular in the early 20th century when separate dining rooms and person hosting parties ended up being the brand-new trend. Brown-Forman acquired Dansk International Designs and its Gorham Manufacturing Company division in 1991, which were incorporated as part of Lenox. On March 16, 2009, a group of investors led by Clarion Capital Partners LLC bought the possessions of Lenox and relabelled the business Lenox Corporation. Lenox continues some manufacture of bone china dinnerware in its plant in Kinston, North Carolina, constructed in 1989. The 218,000-square-foot (20,300 m2) plant is situated on 40 acres (160,000 m2). Its production abilities include enamel dot, etch, color and microwave metals. It was likewise this plant that produced the Bush White House bone china.
