Examples of things I have actually purchased: 1st edition of The Wizard of OZ. Horrible condition, missing pages and ripped spine. Client was about to toss it away. I got it from her for $150. Another consumer had a scrap box of old outfit, It took two hours to go through it and I found over $900 worth of scrap gold & silver + a vintage brooch worth $100.
