Antique Office Swivel Chair. Made by the Old Milwaukee Chair Company between 1889 to 1940. On the change part of the chair, "Pat Oct 20 1941" is written. These chairs were produced the United States Senate and House. This chair is strong wood with carved back spindles and a sculpted seat. The legs of the chair has also been sculpted. The mechanics are all cast iron. One wheel is original to the chair, and if you select the chair up the wheels slip out of their place. A few nicks occasionally, however on the whole a really nice chair for it's age. I have study this chair rather a bit and could not find another one like it. The chairs I have found were not sculpted, or if carved at all, absolutely nothing as detailed as this lovely chair. It is sculpted with vines, leaves, and a huge flower in the seat and one on the top. The carved portions have also been repainted to contribute to the eloquence of this piece. Needs a great cleaning, and one back spindle has been broken and glue back together. If you have any concerns, simply e-mail me and I will certainly do my best to address them for you.
