Due to age-related physical decline, however, it is time for me to pass this exquisite instrument on to another deserving soul; COPD has negatively impacted my lungs function, as have a series of dental procedures on my embouchure. YOU could become the next fortunate musician to be blessed with ownership of this superb instrument :-)This is the medium large silver plated Bach Stradivarius Bb and it is a great trumpet. It has the #37 bell and standard weight. However, there is an area of the bell where it has been smoothed out and I tried to show the lines it left in the 6thand 7th photos I provided. I'm not the original owner, so I don’t really know how it happened. But I do know enough about trumpet repair to tell you this: When a bell is bent or creased, as I’m sure this was, the instrument repairing it doesn’t have to remove the bell. S/he probably straightens it out manually, then places it on a bell form where s/he proceeds to straighten it completely and smooth the metal using a smoothing iron. It will, however, usually leave a line or two where the crease originally was. There are also minor surface scratches that come with normal wear.Overall, the trumpet still looks very good, and it’s one of the better Bach Strads I’ve ever played on. It blows free and easy with outstanding intonation. The valves are excellent, as well as the compression. The old valve felts have been replaced with new ones. The slides all work perfectly as they should. This is a great professional horn that won’t disappoint !The serial number is 132410, which puts the manufacture date around 1977.It will arrive inside a new “Bach Omega ‘Stradivarius’ Trumpet” case, along with a new “Bach 7C” trumpet mouthpiece, and a very-lightly-used “Pro Tec black leather valve guard--model L-226” w/lining”.
