CAMPAIGN BED - CIVIL WAR ERA - VICTORIAN CAST IRON FOLDING BED w / ORIGINAL CASTERS! The photos mention to the story ... ALL study I have done shows that this portable Campaign Bed is from the duration around 1860 ... and could have been ridden by officers during the U S Civil War. Sizes are as follows ... when folded up for transportation or storage ...45.5" High x 30.5" Wide x 12" Deep. When the bed is completely extended for use, it determines ...30.5" Wide x 67" Long (Base) x 76" Long (Top). The bed is made of strong cast iron and steel ... and has survived the last 150 years in great condition ... as you can see. Even the casters are all in great shape ... take a close look. My close friend's other half used it as a "Day Bed" in a NYC home, with a plywood deck and custom cushions. I do not believe it has actually been repainted ... though I can not state for sure. A brand-new coat of paint would bring it back to the initial appearance in a rush. The bed is full ... as revealed ... except for the 2 "locking bolts" that protect it securely when utilized. My close friend never ever got the initial bolts ... and ridden conventional sized stove bolts to protect the bed. Thanks for looking ... these are a very rare ... as I'm sure you realize!
