Up for sale today is a 1973-84 - Slingerland - 12" X 8" inch Blue Sparkle Rack Tom Drum in Used Condition. This drum is Model #1411 & is crushed glass "Sparkling Blue Pearl" in color. This 12" drum has 6 lugs per side & is a 5 ply drum (Inner Maple/Poplar/Maple/Poplar/African Mahogany). Serial #455446Drum was purchased at Sam Ash Hollywood about a year ago & is being sold the way I received it. It doesn’t match my other blue sparkle drums so off to another person to make it sing! Condition:This drum is in pretty good condition for being 40+ years old. This drum was most likely built from 79-84 due to it being a 5 ply drum. This drum size would have been included with the: Avante, Rock or Jazz Outfit Drum Sets. Shell: Structurally - Perfect! Modern heads spin easily on both sides. Sings with new heads on it! Only extra holes are for the tom mount which is not included. Cosmetically - Scratches, most notably in Pics 1 & 5. Drum was engraved below the badge, probably for a school. Speaking of the badge... it's pretty beat up as well as the grommet but the serial # matches the engraved info dating back to 11/80. Hardware:100% original except for 7 tension rods, which are modern Gibraltar. A handful of lugs have scratches & there's also a few scratches on the hoops. Strangely there seems to be zero fading, please see Pics #3 & 9.Heads:Drum does not come with heads. Drum heads in the Pics are only used for photograph purposes.Please look at all the pictures carefully. This is a perfect players drum...sounds awesome & has lots of character/history... buy a rims mount & put the best unscratched section forward towards the audience. Based on condition, I am giving this drum an 7.5 out of 10.My home is a Smoke/Pet Free home. Shipping/Handling = $46.45 in lower 48.
