1983 Specialized Expedition - the size is 58cm (C-C) although I prefer a (C-T) measuring convention and therefore would call it a 59.5cm (or 23.5" for those that prefer inches). In any case, it is a perfect fit for me with my roughly 32" inseam. Stand over height is 33.5" with the current relatively fat 38mm tires.In 2017 the bike was completely stripped of components (and decals), Frame-Savered, and rebuilt with a more upright style cockpit which is most comfortable for the casual riding that I do. I spared no expense in collecting the best new and NOS parts from the '80s, '90s, and today and am very pleased with the resultant re-imagining of this iconic touring bicycle. Please note: the internally routed generator wire is still extant.The wheelset is relatively light and lively as compared with the original and makes for a very enjoyable ride on all surfaces and is comprised of the following:Front: Dia-Compe Gran Ene high flange 100OLD hub/H Plus Son TB14 700C 32H polished rim/DT Swiss 14/15/14 double-butted spokes.Rear: Velo Orange high flange 126OLD freewheel hub/H Plus Son TB14 700C 32H polished rim/DT Swiss 14/15/14 double-butted spokes.Freewheel: Sachs 6-speed 13-26T.Tires/tubes: Soma Shikoro 700 x 38C with Vittoria latex tubes - new 100 miles ago.The rest of the components are as follows:Shimano Deore XT crankset (FC-M730) (170) w/Shimano SG 46/36/24 chainringsIRD QB-95 bottom bracketMKS Lambda pedalsKMC X8.99 chainShimano Deore XT front derailleur (FD-M735)Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur (RD-M735)Shimano Deore XT cantilever brakes (FC-M730) w/Kool-Stop Eagle Claw II Salmon brake padsShimano Ultegra 600 headsetNitto MT-10 Dirt Drop stem (10 x 25.4)Velo Orange Milan handlebar (25.4)Shimano Deore XT 6 speed thumb shifters (SL-M730)Dia-Compe SS-7 brake leversDimension Cork GripsNitto S65 seat post (26.8)Brooks C17 Carved saddleJagwire stainless cables & housingThe condition of the bike is excellent both mechanically and cosmetically. The bottom bracket and headset are smooth and turn perfectly. The wheels are true and spin freely. The frame/fork are true and track straight. The frame has no dings or dents; paint is excellent with only a few minor scrapes. The riding experience is truly a pleasure, akin to driving a well-mannered luxury vehicle; solid and sure-footed while nimble and responsive.
