The "Al Hirt autograph model" features images of Al on a double-sided medallion. It is a professional grade Bb trumpet manufactured by Courtois in Paris for G. LeBlanc. It has a large bore size (indicated by the "L" on the shank) for a rich and warm sound. Click (or copy and paste) this YouTube link to actually hear the sound it produces:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em3mZUS--4gI am the original owner of this horn, and I kept it in good playing condition throughout my playing career, but did not feel the need to maintain the lacquer finish. Serial number is 21482.Valve compression is excellent and the pistons are smooth and responsive.All of the slides move easily.The main tuning-slide water key was replaced (compare the color on the original 3rd slide water key), the solder joints are solid, and the dents have been smoothed out. The only remaining ding that I saw is circled in the last picture. You will see a considerable amount of surface scratches and pitting, and many surfaces are pink/reddish in color. This surface "dezincification" is a form of wear that is NOT the same as "red-rot." (Feel free to ask for more pictures of the lead pipe, which is where red-rot would normally be found--or any other pictures.)The hard carrying case is not beautiful but is perfectly functional and protective. Includes a nice Vincent Bach 7C mouthpiece, Al Cass valve oil, and these 3 mutes:LeBlanc Alessi/Vacchiano straight and wah-wah mutes in good condition, and a Humes & Berg stone-lined cup mute in fair condition.
