Getzen 907S Eterna Proteus Bb trumpet

Location:
Sunnyside, NY
Description:

Read all of it, this is a no returns sale: You are looking at a used and good condition Getzen 907S Eterna Proteus trumpet - this is NOT an "excellent" or "very good" condition in my opinion, I think this is a "good condition" trumpet. The reason for that is that the trumpet has some dings and scratches, but looks much better than any "good condition" trumpet I have seen on ebay. It does look good and I would have kept it, gave it to a tech to fix the dings and I doubt anyone passing by would have been able to notice. New is sells for around $2200 when on sale. Getzen advertises it as a all-around trumpet. As I mentioned, this particular trumpet has some dings and wear, but I see no structural damage. It works perfectly fine, the valves are SMOOTH. It comes with its used case and a Getzen 7C mouthpiece that is in excellent condition. As this is a no return sale, for more details read below and see the pictures. eBay only allows 24 pictures max, so for ALL the unedited pictures without any arrangement, please copy the following link to your browser - this is on Imgur website/hosting service: https://imgur.com/a/6UepZLL. Video is below, read first...I will also try to post a link to a brief Youtube video below, but I am not a pro shop and I am NOT a pro musician, I did not play for over 30 years, since I was in school, and sadly still didn't restart playing. So, pardon my video, playing and, please, understand that I will not be able to answer many questions. I am simply not qualified. I will try, however, to describe what I can and what I know to the best of my knowledge and abilities. This Getzen was very recently purchased it, from someone who said that they serviced it. I couldn't verify that, so I gave it a regular bath and, I'd say, a quality silver cleaning with a 50/50 Haggerties+water solution, as per a thread on TrumpetHerald. It blows VERY freely, in my unlearned opinion - I compared it to a typical stuffy Bach 180/37/25, so there is that. Dings and scratches: there are small dings and scratches throughout the trumpet that I will try to show in pictures, but may miss some. The most visible is the one on the leadpipe/mouthpipe, another set is along the bell and the third is on a knuckle (see the pictures). The trumpet is so shiny after the cleaning that some of the scratches and dings cannot be seen in pictures properly, whatever I tried, too much glare. Take into account that not all the dings and scratches may be seen, due to that, and consider that this was a used trumpet and has some wear. I gave it a pretty serious cleanup and it actually shines very beautifully. A few things to note, additionally to dents and scratches when you look at the pictures:- the bell bead seemingly had some acid bleed and most of that thin area around it is rather on the rough side.- two braces have silver-yellow areas around them, which seems to indicate some loss of sliver (possibly thin plating?) and brass starting to show.- one tiny blob of solder hangs outside the main tuning slide, which does not seem to have been ever repaired. Go figure.Leadpipe/Mouthpipe clean , but some beginning of Redrot may possibly be in the part connecting the leadpipe to the main tuning slide and possibly some redrot might be in the tuning slide itself, not sure: this is a custom gold brass mouthpipe and while there is no red rot in the mouthpipe, the part connecting the leadpipe and the main tuning slide seems to show several dots from within the silver plate. I am not qualified to know, but I am thinking that this is the begging of redrot in those two parts. See the pictures. The price and OBO reflects this situation.Compression: Once again, I am not properly qualified to answer that, but the slides do pop loudly. See the video. The case: the case is scratched, one internal latch is displaced, but actually works fine. The case has both keys. The springs and the locks work.Time played: one hour maybe. Reasons for selling: I purchased it recently. However, my wife rebelled when I brought it home to our rather small apartment :( I do have too many trumpets, though and I didn't even restart playing. I've done my trumpet safari, but trumpets don't play by themselves. Need to sell this one and a few others.Video: The entire video did not fit on eBay, which has a 150mb limit for uploads. So, I uploaded it to Youtube, it's not public, but you can watch it if you have the link below. I use a mute for a scale without the warmup, pardon my playing (as I said I did not play for over 30 years). I use the mute because I live in an apartment and the sound insulation is horrible here. The video editor is also not very user friendly, my apologies for that.(copy the link bwlow and paste it to your browser. I will delete the video after the trumpet is sold) https://youtu.be/I8FF-NY06mYShipping: 1. I ship only to US 48 continental states. The trumpet is going to be shipped via USPS Ground Advantage and I will add UPS ground as an option (choose the shipping service you prefer at checkout) The trumpet is placed in its Getzen cloth bad, then inside its Getzen case, then I placed medium bubble wrap over the trumpet to make sure it does not wobble during transit. Then I placed the Getzen trumpet case in a shipping box, well protected by various bubble wrap. The mouthpiece and the keys will be placed outside the trumpet case to avoid accidental damage to the trumpet - they are wrapped in bubble wrap. I sold four of my trumpets till now, all buyers left a very positive feedback.2. Local pickup is available in Queens NY (either Sunnyside or, if we move to another apartment meanwhile, in Rego Park)."Lowballing policy": will not reply, sorry. No returns: sold as is, no time to deal with returns, sorry. It is clearly described. And my feedback is 100% for a reason;)Thanks for looking at it!--------------------------------------Specs from manufacturer's website:https://www.getzen.com/trumpets/eterna-series/907s-proteus/Bore.460″SlidesHand lapped nickel silverMouthpipeCustom gold brassBell#137 two-piece yellow brass with special heat treatmentIntonation AidsFixed first and third slide ringsMouthpiece7CFinishBright silver plate only
