The writing surface opens and closes as it should and it supported by a pair of pull out oak supports. The brass hardware is nicely aged, showing tarnishing and patina - They're unpolished. Blemishes, surface scratches and staining can be seen along the finish from age. This can be seen along the drop front face and interior.
