Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a lot of two (2) vintage French horns. The buyer will receive both instruments shown. These are single horns. Both come with cases, but there are no mouthpieces, nor any other accessories included. These are former school horns that were retired by the district that owned them . As such, they have I.D. markings engraved on the bells, and painted on the exteriors of the cases. These instruments have not been tested. They should be presumed to need work in order to be playable. Below are additional details regarding condition for each instrument. I strive to be as thorough as possible, but please understand that these are old school horns, so I can't detail every ding and scratch. Please check out the pictures carefully, and ask questions if in doubt.#1 - I can just barely see the remnants of some engraving, but I can't make out the brand name. I think it has been relacquered (and buffed in the process), and that is probably why the engraving isn't visible. The serial number is 217403.There are minor dings, pings, nicks, and flat spots throughout. It looks like the bell was damaged at some point and repaired, but not very well. It has a crinkled look/feel to the brass in one area. The rim of the bell is wavy from being bent and there is a small crack in it. There are a few resoldered joints, and one partially broken solder joint. The thumb hook looks to have been resoldered. All tuning slides are free. Compression seems decent, with an audible pop when pulling the three main slides. This horn also comes with an additional slide section, which I assume is used to switch keys from F to Bb. This section is in good condition with no dings, just some lacquer wear. None of the valve caps are stuck. The keys are moving freely and rebounding, although I'm sure they need some lubrication at the very least. This horn comes in a wood shell case, but it is in poor condition. It is heavily worn, both inside and out. There is some separation of the wood joints.#2 - I can not find any sign of a brand name on this instrument. It has dents, dings, pings, nicks, and flat spots throughout. Nothing major, but they are numerous. There is evidence of past dent work on the bell that has caused a rippled feel to the brass in one area. The rim of the bell is ever so slightly wavy from being bent and repaired. There are a few resoldered joints, and one partially broken solder joint. There is a solder scar spot where it appears something is missing (thumb hook maybe?). There is what appears to be a patch soldered over the tubing in one spot. There is a kink in the lead pipe. All tuning slides are free. Compression seems decent, with an audible pop when pulling two of the three main slides. One of the valve caps is stuck, but the other two turn. The keys are moving freely and rebounding, albeit sluggishly. I'm sure they need some lubrication at the very least. One of the keys is sitting higher than the other two. This one comes in a plastic shell case that is in good condition. It has normal wear and tear both inside and out.
