An antique carved islamic Indo Persian style wood dowry casket chest. A large and well crafted Orientalist style lidded box decorated with deep relief carved botanical elements and additional Islamic style calligraphy lettering to borders of hinged lid. Lettering continues to top of front panel. Patinated brass mountings with Arabesque style designs. Dual opposing scrolling handles. Interior and lid underside lined with red velvet fabric. No apparent signature or marks. Dimensions: 8 X 18.25 X 11 in. Condition: Good overall condition having mild age related surface wear. Estate fresh to the market.
