I bought them to learn to play but that not ever going to happen.. the amp has only been tested to make sure it works and the bass only played with a few times as I tried to learn some stuff. A little fiddling right out of the box got the action low and smooth. The shape of the neck makes playing effortless. The Roadster Orange finish is so much better in person than in the photos, the active pickups sound wonderful, and, a boon to all us gigging musicians, it's light. P bass, couple of Jazz Basses, Yamahas, Peaveys, A Gibson, couple other Ibanez's, and this is the one I'm sticking with. For years the Jazz Bass was my main stage axe, and I used to carry a phony Hofner as a backup. I'd usually pick it up somewhere in the second set to give my shoulder a break. I am seriously considering buying another one of these for my backup and leaving everything else at home. For us working class players who simply can't afford a Ric 4003 or the Alembic of their dreams, this bass will fill the bill. All controls feel solid. I like that it has a built in amp fan also. Tone controls offer a wide range of variables. The Acoustic B200 is truly a nice little amp for the money. I have been playing bass for more years than I care to mention. Been through the "seperate electronics" to amp/cab combos. I have played virtually all styles of music over the years as well, so with this in mind.....After using the B200 now since Feb of this year and quite a few venues, I can honestly say this little amp holds up nicely. I have never felt a need for more volume nor does it lack tone. The amp offers a very clear array of tone controls and its very easy to dial in the sound that suits the individual. I play medium to small clubs and this amp has never let me down in the volume department. I play a Jazz bass and the guitars tone holds true with this amp. I get that growl I like with both pick ups on, or a fat thicker tone with the neck pick up only. The B200 offers a relatively tight/clear tone and I have never experienced any kind of amp distortion or clipping from it. As a side note here, I have hooked this amp up to a 2-10 extension cab (8 ohm) and the amp gets louder and bigger sounding.I dont know what other reviewers are talking about when it comes the the amps weight. I can easily pick this thing up (bad back and all) and put it in my cars back seat with ease. I recommend casters to roll the amp into the gig, but all in all, not a heavy amp.Keep in mind the price point on this unit. The tone you want is there, with a little time of dialing it in. The tolex covering will tear easily if your rough on your gear. This is in part, due to the cab being made out of pressed board instead of plywood. Like I said, for the money who cares is the tolex rips up a bit. This amp sounds good enough to overlook some tears.I hope the review was helpful. Rock on!So far so good. I still cannot believe the sound that comes out of this thing! It is without a doubt THE BEST bass amp I've heard in this price range, and beats many amps that sell for more! The power and clarity is beyond description, you really need to hear it to believe it. I've been playing in local bar bands for 30+ years and always wished somebody made a compact bass amp that had power enough to carry without being miked or plugged into the PA. This baby fills the bill! I'm using an Ibanez short scale bass and this combo sounds fantastic together. I've never enjoyed playing bass more. Can you tell that I'm happy with this purchase?
