This is a 1985 Pro Miyata road bike in very good condition. It has a finely finished lugged frame built with the famous Miyata Chromoly Triple Butted tubing. It is size 60 cm measured center to top (center to center measurement is about 58.5 cm) The top tube is 58.5 cm measured center to center. It has all original parts that match the catalog description except for brand new brake hoods, handlebar tape, Continental Ultra Sport tires 700c by 25 mm (they actually have about 15 miles on them) and a slightly used period correct chain that I swapped in. The serial number on this bike is NA40728. This year Pro Miyata was number two in the Miyata hierarchy just below the Team Miyata. It is a top tier, period correct road racing bicycle. It has Sun tour Superbe and Superbe Pro parts on the drivetrain, shift levers and pedals. The wheels have Suntour New Cyclone sealed bearing hubs with Ukai 700c rims. The hubs show a little discoloration on their surface (I don't know what caused it) but that does not affect functionality at all. All bearings on this bike turn buttery smooth. This bike is ready to ride. It obviously has low mileage if you look at rim wear, brake block wear and chainring tooth wear. It spent many many years hanging in a garage which is why it's in such good condition now. If it's a bike that you dreamed about back in the 80's you would be hard pressed to find one in much better condition than this one to satisfy that dream. The Chrome is in excellent shape. The paint is in very good condition with just a few scratches or chips. The color is called "Pepper Red" and with the yellow accents it is one of the most iconic paint jobs Miyata ever produced. Since this is a 1985 model this bike could be used in any Eroica or L'Eroica vintage ride. It's a conversation starter on almost any group ride. It is a true vintage racing bike so it is fast and agile but because of the excellent steel frame it's still comfortable for a full day in the saddle. I've tried to include enough pictures so you can judge the condition accurately for yourself. Please look carefully at all the pictures. Since the bicycle will be shipped in a standard bike box some reassembly will be necessary upon arrival. Thanks for looking.
