5 string banjo Pot and neck blank. This is an 11" open back banjo pot turned and fitted w/hardware. It is built out of 300+ year old heart pine. The rim blocks were configured in a staggered pattern with an oak dowel pin locking each piece then plugged w/ a heart pine plug. There is literally 84 individual pieces of wood in the rim alone. It has a 1/4" Stew Mac round tone ring, Golden Gate hooks, nuts, and wall lugs with a Remo unfrosted head. I think the tension hoop is Gold Tone. The pot is finished with clear shellac. Shellac does well with heart pine in that it won't blister due to the pitch content in the wood. The pot has not been drilled for Co-rods. Also included is a heart pine neck blank , side profiled only. It has not been milled for a truss rod as of yet. I will also include a piece of heart pine for the peg head ears. This wood was harvested from an old textile Mill in Belmont NC over 50 years ago. This could be a great piece for someone to complete and bring to life. Thank you for looking.
