This is a Johnson square neck resophonic slide guitar. It used to be a six string. I took it to Ed Dowling, a retired mechanical engineer, in Sedona. Expense me a couple of bucks however he reworked the headstock and constructed a brand-new saddle and the nut. He put a set of mandolin tuners in location of the initial. Now it is a 8 string. It plays good, sounds great. I have it tuned to E6. (E, G, B, E, G, B, / C #, E).This is an enjoyable tuning. You can play all your Bluegrass tunes on the bigger 6 strings. They will certainly be in the secret of E or you can capo up to any place ...you can play your bluegrass style or switch to western swing with the E6 tuning. With the proper size strings it can be tuned to regular dobro tuning plus the high E and G, (G, B, D, G, B, D, / E, G).Includes the initial case. That's a reflection on the square neck.
