AKAI DPS24 Professional 24 Track CD Digital Audio Recording Studio Parts Repair Includes full original Manual, addendum manuals, quick start guides and some printed out information as seen in photos. Unit is in overall good cosmetic condition but it is not functioning properly and being sold as-is, for parts or repair due to the reasons listed below. When the unit is powered on it shows the three screens that are seen in photos # 3, 4 and 5. It initially displays the screen in photo 3 then quickly changes to the screen in photo 4 before changing after several seconds to the screen in photo 5 where it remains “stuck”. Once that final screen appears, none of the other buttons/functions seem to affect the screen display when pressed. When the CD drive open button is pressed it attempts to open but only comes out slightly (maybe an 8th of an inch) as seen in photo # 11. There is small spot of corrosion on the main face as seen in photo # 10. The AKAI Sound Library CD ROM is not tested. It does seem to have some scratches and wear on the back of it (not pictured). There is some staining on the main manual and some of the other paperwork as seen in photos. When the unit is lifted and moved around you can hear something tiny inside moving around like a small piece of something has broken or dislodged. The piece doesn’t seem to have the type of impact that a small piece of metal, like a screw, would have so I’m led to believe it’s possibly a small broken-off piece of plastic.
