Collector alert! This is an an amazing Near Mint condition Antique Split Bamboo Cane rod very possibly made by the Leonard company. This rod has a beautiful bright (original?) finish (? or it could have been professionally refinished) and all original components. The blond color Maple or Butternut wood butt section is sculptural in form and highly finished and varnished. The form and build quality certainly looks consistent with trolling rods made by the Leonard rod company (see last two photos of example of another trolling rod by Leonard and the link for this rod on another site, https://www.rwsummers.com/leonard/1207-leonard-bamboo-trolling-rod; the experts should be able to tell for sure). The nickle or chrome plating on reel seat is very good as are the guide wraps. There is subtle imprint indicating that a reel was mounted but otherwise this looks to have never been fished.This hexagonal one piece rod is flawless and straight in appearance and is in Collector condition. It measures 6'- 5.5" long with 5 guides. (the name Allan is engraved on the guides) The varnish is pristine, guides have minor oxidation the rubber butt cap is amazingly without cracks and looks very good. There is no makers mark or signature anywhere on this quality built rod. This is a must for serious collection or exhibit. Will be packed and shipped in heavy cardboard tube. This is a long item so will select UPS shipping and add for insurance under handling cost.
