Chicco KeyFit30 car seat - excellent condition, free @stanford.edu
Chicco KeyFit30 car seat, red color, with the original additional padding inserts. In superb condition. Giving this away for free because it 'expired' in November 2014. Yes, apparently car seats have expiration dates... something about plastic degrading in hot cars, etc. Or it's a conspiracy on the part of car seat manufacturers to make more money. The internet is conflicted about this. Here's the deal: I bought this secondhand (but seemingly un-used) in 2012 when a family member with an infant came to visit and wanted to avoid the hassle of flying with a car seat. We used it for 1 week. It has been in a dark storage unit since then. It seems safe to assume that the plastic has not degraded on schedule, but I can't in good conscience sell new parents something that isn't supposed to be on the market.... there is, as far as I have been able to discover, nothing illegal about using an expired car seat or selling a used expire seat to friends and family, it's just that manufacturers and retail stores can't sell them to you. But if you or someone you know is broke, this car seat seems like it would be a whole lot better than no car seat. Pickup on campus.
