Exceptionally fine example, in a near perfect state of preservation.The two piece back of deeply figured maple slanting downward at the join, the ribs matching. The two piece top of fine grained spruce. Retains the original neck and head, re-angled at the heel. The highly transparent varnish of a fiery orange brown color, revealing every nuance of the wood fibres and enhancing the numerous tool marks left by the maker on the exterior surfaces.This magnificent violin has a full, rich, dark brilliant tone with tremendous carrying power!! The perfect instrument for the most discerning player.
