Mirecourt's tradition of luthierie appears to date back to the end of the sixteenth century and the travels of the Dukes of Lorraine and their retinues to Italy. Mirecourt was house to significant personalities such as Nicolas Francois Vuillaume, Emile Augste and Bernard Ouchard, and Charles Jean Baptiste Collin-Mezin. This Lutherie Artistique Mirecourt 4/4 size violin with a golden honey varnish was handmade circa 1890 strictly for export.
