Styled after SoCal Speed Shop's racers from the 50s, this one has great deals of initial touches. 2 piece white yearn body from Surf Leaf Designs in CA, a GFS Tele neck with a bone nut, Wilkinson tuners, roller tees, a Tune-o-matic with metal ferrules front and back. The pickups are GFS Alnico V "59 Classics" The control plate is reversed to allow pinky volume swells. The top of the body is rounded over with a 1/2" router bit to permit arm convenience; the bottom is flat to permit comfy lap playing. Feathery light at 6.5 lbs.I used standard Tele kind electrical wiring, with 500k Alpha pots and an American switch. All I have is a battery amp, so I can't tell how it overdrives, however I can state it has that Gibsonesque "plunk". Very little of a radius on the neck, it's kind of really flat, so I could not tell you precisely what the radius is. I only needed to make tiny adjustments to get the articulation ideal; the person I get these bodies from in CA is a perfectionist, and I spend for it. The graphics are all cut by hand; I cover the body with masking tape, draw the design on by hand, then cut the tape by hand with an exacto, so you'll never ever mistake it for something standardized. It's airbrushed with Createx transparent red (yes, you can see the grain through the paint) then 10 coats of Minwax gloss Polyurethane, rubbed out twice. The action is super low, and there's plenty of adjustment up and down. My philosophy is that I build every guitar for myself-I've never ever taken orders for a guitar, and the only deadline I'm interested in is for one of the guitars I've contributed. I sell it for the cost of the parts, and only to buy parts for the next one. I never ever include a case, and all that I can ensure is the uniqueness of the instrument, and that you can take it apart and offer the parts for what you paid.
