Price:
$10,000
Location:
Gunlock, UT
Description:

Sad to sell. Need some bills paid. This completely recovered upright Krakaur Bros. piano was developed with quarter sawn oak in the mid 1890's. We have possessed it for over 20 years. The upper part has beautiful relief sculptures sculpted in. It is very steadily built and compares to Steinways from the period and has a patented closed back to allow it to not be against the wall. It features matching bench and the complete set of the International Library of Music from 1934. They are sitting on top of the piano in the photo and are like new. The piano is in outstanding condition. The soundboard is initial and it has hand repainted flowers and leaves on it. The appeal and craftsmanship makes this a piece of art. Below is more info about Krakauer.Bros. Pianos: It is also an excellent investment as it will only remain to increase in value. It plays and sounds stunning.See images. DESCRIPTION.Krakauer Brothers built extremely high quality, pricey pianos in New York from about 1869-1980, one of the very few American piano makers to survive well over a century. This piano is extremely unusual since of its heavily sculpted moldings, trusses, and panels. Since the darker surfaces were more popular at the time, carved oak pianos are less usual than mahogany or rosewood. Since oak was an usual domestic wood, it was not considered to be unique and was seldom made use of for piano cabinets, making it rare and desirable today. This Krakauer piano is a beautiful striking piece of furniture as well as an extremely rewarding musical instrument. It consists of matching bench. It has been completely brought back and is in near perfect condition. The quarter sawn oak and beautifully sculpted details make this truly one of a kind. Makers of Krakauer Bros. grand, console, spinet and upright pianos. In the course of their long and successful career Krakauer Bros. have been a family issue and never allied with combinations outside the company. This residence was established in 1869 by Simon Krakauer, an exceptional musician, who came to America in 1853 with his child David. The manufacture of Krakauer pianos is completely confined to one high grade quality-the Krakauer piano-which is available in a wide range of attractive designs in Grand and Vertical designs. For many years the Krakauer is noted for incredibly creative and distinctively appealing case designs, long lasting constru ~ tion, and an incredibly rich tonal quality. They have actually successfully pioneered the patented closed back building which allows the piano to be put throughout the space like a grand piano and without the need of placing it with its back to the wall. Among the most effective designs in this design is the Krakauer "Serenade" which because it can be faced out in a space like a grand piano has a "grand like" free flowing quality of tone. The majority of their spinet pianos also contain the special Acoustic Tone Chambers which noticeably re-enforce and boost the tone. The Krakauer line is absolutely a "Decorator" line of styling. Every design is genuine in its derivation and is not simply a combination of ridiculous frills. All this is based upon the attention of the "one household" element in the company, with a honest and intimate interest in every piano made. Krakauer Bros have no mass-production. A distinct, special feature of all Krakauer pianos is the brand-new Bridge Braced Back construction, asserted by Krakauer engineers to be the strongest and most long lasting in the world. Krakauer Bros. have provided their pianos to a multitude of wonderful musicians of today and the past who have, without solicitation, offered significant testament and endorsement to the worth and quality of the Krakauer.
