Josef Metzner, 1920, Sachsen, Germany violin. Identified Strad. design w / lovely wood(s), flamed maple back with matching ribs and scroll and perfectly fluted f-holes. Recently tuned-up with new bridge and soundpost. The violin is in terrific overall wellness with only a very little treble wing fracture (see pic), and the normal 90 years of age bumps and dings. Great instrument for sophisticated or intermediate gamer. Incredibly well balanced tone throughout all the strings. Played practically daily for many years till recently. Claire Givens Violins in Minneapolis, MN recommended a $3500. list price in her shop a number of years back. Selling Price: Violin just w / contemporary foam arrow case - $2250.
