Some dings and scratches on this nearly 60 year old guitar. Beautiful highly figured mahogany top! Set up as a slide guitar in open D. Just awesome! The action was a bit high for normal play so a new bone nut and saddle were installed with greater height to turn this gem into an excellent slide guitar. The tone is warm and balanced due to the mahogany body. Bone bridge pins installed for more brightness except for the G string to tone it down a bit. Original tuners function well and hold tune. This auditorium style/OOO is great fun as a slide guitar. I believe this guitar to be pre 1976 due to the Gibson “mustache “ headstock shape. We all know about the legal battle between Gibson and Ibanez in 1976 so I WONT bring up the “L” word that so many yahoos on eBay throw in their listings to make you think they know what they’re talking about- they don’t! After the victory of said battle, all Japanese guitars no longer sported the “ mustache “ shaped headstock. It’s valuable information to help date MIJ guitars. No case keeps shipping cost down. LOTS of bubble wrap! Fully insured. Lower 48 only.
