Larimar was forged from the volcanic forces that shaped the Caribbean. It is only found in the Dominican Republic. There it remained undiscovered until smidgens of stone tumbled down the river to the sea, being polished along the method. It was initially uncovered in 1916 but called by the Domnican who re-discovered it in 1974 taking the very first letters of his daughters name and the Spanish name for sea, mar. Larimar stone is also known as Dolphin Stone, Blue Pectolite, Atlantis Stone and Stefilias stone.Larimar is especially scarce and unique. When its gone there wont be any more and mine manufacturing is limited many of the shafts closed.I have a small collection of completed pieces and rough stone. Also a few mounted "set"pieces. I acquired these at the mine sight in the Dominican Republic. Inspect rates of this stone in jewlery establishments. Inspect my prices.
