Pre-war Gibson 5-string Conversion Banjo w Steve Ryan Tone
Selling on consignment. Mid 1930's Montgomery Ward (by Gibson) tenor banjo converted to a 5-string Mastertone. Very good overall condition. All original pot assembly, with the exception of an old Steve Ryan archtop to flathead conversion tone ring. The resonator has been shortened to a more common Gibson spec in height. The curly maple neck appears to be from an RK-85, and converted to a very nice 'Gibson style'. Has Gibson stamped tuners as well. Great sounding and playing banjo with plenty of 'old Gibson' mojo. Perfect banjo for a 'player', not a collector. Many more pics are available upon request. Asking $2395 or best offer. Pay Pal is accepted. FREE SHIPPING (lower 48 states only).
