10 Place Setting + Theodore Haviland China Set out of New York - 43 Pieces Total - - $350. This set has a delicate pink flower spray pattern with gold and scalloped trimmed edge. The gold trim is undamaged, and all pieces are still in great condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or fractures. An uncommonly nice set. This Vintage THEODORE HAVILAND CHINA SET belongs to the NAOMI pattern, and is a DISCONTINUED product (circa: 1936-1958). The set has a luminescent WHITE base color with PINK and YELLOW floral swags along the rim, and raised, textured designs which accent the scalloped edge. A single floral wreath decorates the center of all the pieces other than the cups and saucers, and gleaming GOLD trim adorns the set's edges. This is a charming set of classic Theodore Haviland China, Made in America, that is in EXCELLENT condition! The history of Haviland China started with an American called David Haviland, a partner in a business that imported English and French dinnerware, who became fascinated with great porcelain when someone brought him a busted French porcelain teacup seeking a replacement. His fascination led him to find the origins of the teacup near the Limoges area of France. Limoges was currently popular for china manufacturing and was among the couple of places worldwide where the natural clay component (called kaolin) made use of to make china might be found.
