Up for sale is Toto's original FM Synthesizer- the GS-1. Costing $25,000 new it appears like a Baby Grand Piano. This was the immediate predecessor to the Yamaha DX-7 which was also based upon the new FM Synthesis concept established by Professor John Chowning of Stanford University. If you take a look at the "Africa" video on You Tube it is THIS keyboard that you see on phase. It has 16 sound storage buttons and sounds for the system are fed from magnetic strips into a reader on the right of the device. The reader works and I have Both packets of sound strips. There are both "Vibrato" and "Tremelo" functions which are variable and managed by the left 2 foot pedals- the best pedal is a sustain. It has both ENSEMBLE & TOUCH SENSITIVITY buttons, and the mix of Might Be Called: "PSYCHEDELIA"- the effect that is troubled the sound is reliant upon the Velocity & Touch of the played secret- a light touch is a whooshy Chorus result. A strongly-played note has Edgy Distortion. This is an instrument for an ADVANCED EXPRESSIVE PLAYER! The tones that it produces are ROUND & FULL- I've never heard such a good-sounding keyboard.I MIGHT take something as PART Trade to help you get into this if you live locally. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN STRAIGHT TRADE !!!!! I might use a good little zippy vehicle, or a MacBook Pro or ???? If you live at a range I can deliver this safely to you.
