Description:
Made and purchased in Kenya in the 1970's this handmade batik is 36" X 40" and has never been framed or mounted. The vintage Batiks are time-consumingly made by brushing molten wax onto clothe which is then dipped or repainted with dye. The wax is then gotten rid of and the procedure duplicated over and over until the preferred pattern or drawing is attained. The batik can be mounted and framed or just hung on the wall. Rustic African art of village females.
