White Silkie Chicks, hatched 4/6/2012$5 while supply lasts - only 19 available - if you want them all, you can have them for $4 eachAlready well developed in China by the time of Marco Polo (13th century). Adapts well to confinement; calm, docile; one of the most broody of chickens. These are wonderful for medicinal sweet meat, medicinal eggs - PLUS they're amazing pets! These little guys are not only adorable, but so very friendly. You'll find them every bit as lovable and fun as your favorite dog or cat. Some people even have them as house pets, like the pot-belly pigs - but for me - I am not much for chickens or pigs in the house! (except as babies with specific short term needs) Silkies are relatively quiet, calm natured, gentle, and loving. They also like to adopt other small birds or chickens that need loving. They'll take in any odd egg or chick and mother it. They also provide good care for an injured bird. We've had dog attacks and coon attacks that left severely injured chickens, and rather than have them isolated alone in a hospital pen, we can put them in with the silkies, and they'll do fine. They'll even be more tame when they're healed as the Silkies have a taming affect on any other type of chicken that lives with them for a period of time. They are truly an amazing chicken.
