One dozen Jumbo Guinea hatching eggs$15 a dozenThese are a dark gray with white dots throughout their plumage. They are the old fashion original color of Guineas, a favorite prized by many for their beautiful polka dotted feathers, weighing 5 to 7 pounds. Large like the French Hybrids but will mate naturally and do not have to be artificially inseminated to get fertility. Keets are brown with black stripes and markings and a tan underside.The head has a broad black stripe down the center with two narrow black stripes on each side of it, with narrow orange stripes between the black. The beak, legs, and toes are orange. Only one image shown as both male and female look the same. The biggest noticable difference is in their sounds. Guineas are noted for amazing flavored meat - a delicacy in many fine restaurants. One reason many people get guineas is for tick control - it's their favorite food! And besides that, they are so funny to watch! Not a pet for the city as they love to fly about and will yell at any intruder, but if you've got land, you'll want guinea! Best to purchase young keets, then keep in a contained area for 2 months, then allow to roam freely. Once acclimated to their new home for a couple months, that's where they'll stay, and they'll usually always return to the same place to perch each night. And once they're roaming free, you won't have to worry too much with feed costs. They'll take care of that themselves finding all the bugs and creepy crawly things on the ground.
