Pig ready to butcher - last estimate around 280 Lbs, but growing daily - he's gotten ready faster than I'd expected. He and his pen mates have had plenty of room - fed on pasture, local grain, and surplus produce and foods. No antibiotics or hormones added to their feeding schedule as is typical in large confinement operations. Happy, healthy pig that I was planning to have butchered for our own use in a few weeks as he has been the best looking one I've had (I wanted to keep him for us and raise the smaller one to possibly sell later when he was ready). However, we need the money right now and we have enough in our freezer to last us for a little while from a recent one that I butchered early. So I need to sell him and will instead have to wait a few more months for his pen mate to reach butcher size before we'll get more pork for the freezer. I'd also consider selling his pen mate at this moment since I need the money if someone wanted to finish him out, but he is probably only 100-150 Lbs (not sure as I haven't gotten a good measurement on him because he doesn't like to sit still whereas the big pig will let me scratch his back and such so I can measure him - just know the "little guy" seems less than half the size of the other one) so it will be a couple more months before he'll be ready for butchering for most folks. I've put a lot of time and effort into raising these pigs to provide healthy, more natural pork rather than the building confined and chemically treated ones that are so prevalent today. And quite frankly, I'd prefer that I could go ahead and receive the benefits of butchering him for my family after all the love and work I've put in. And because I loved the ham from my first one last fall as well as the bacon, sausage, pork chops, ribs, etc. So I won't sell them too cheap. But I'm willing to sell them for $1.25/Lb Live Weight which is much cheaper than you might spend for comparable meat and which I think is better than a fair price for what you're getting. The big guy we can easily get that true weight when he is delivered to be processed (my $375 listing is guessing he'll be 300 Lbs - but he might be more by then and the price will go up/down accordingly as I'll charge based upon his final size when he is delivered). I can deliver to Cannelburg Processing Plant or possibly Odon Locker probably for cost of fuel (Cannelburg handled my others, but Odon's not much further away and I've had meat from them so I'm sure it would be done well). You'll be responsible for all processing cost - last one averaged out to only about 50 cents per pound for everything so that isn't bad, but that will depend largely on your cuts, curing, spicing, etc so it might be a little less or more. The finishing pig, if you're interested, we'll probably have to estimate a weight since I don't have scales, but I've found the measurements work pretty well (actually I've estimated low on those I've had butchered - so he'll probably be bigger than my calculations when I do get a decent measurement). Again, I can probably work out some kind of arrangement to deliver him for cost of transporting him to your place if needed.
