abulous Vintage Handbag!Abe Rothman was issued a design patent # 168,736 on December 9th, 1952. This purse was made by Elsa Manufacturing Co. of St. Louis, Missouri. This handbag dates from early to mid 1950's. and features a vertically ribbed molded tortoiseshell acetate body, formed manages, an 8-sided amber lid with molded center showing florals surrounded by rounded branches and flanked by smaller sized flowers. A Presto latch closes the bag. A short brass internal hinge is utilized. The brass plated hinge and closure are in excellent condition with no corrosion. The manages are in great condition with no bending. Bottom reads, "Elsa Manufacturing Co., St. Louise 3, Missouri.".The dimensions of this purse are as follows:.101/2" tall with deals with extended.51/2" tall with handles down.5" front to back at base.7" delegated right at base.
