Description:
Circa 1970s recreation of a 1905 - 1907 German / Prussian porcelain infantry lithophane beer stein. Roughly 11-inches tall and 4.5-inches in size at the base. Labelled "1. Hgl. bayr. Infanterie Regt." which represents 1st Hauptgemeinschaftsleiter Bayerische Infanterie Regiment" which means "1st Royal Bavarian Infantry Lifeguards Regiment". Around the leading it states "1905 Eugen Hafner 1907". Topped by an infantry man, lugging a pack, holding is long gun, and flanked by a lion holding a guard. That stands on a decorated capstone of a dome which checks out on 3 panels walking around "JHR BRUDER STOSST DIE GLASER AN ES LEBE DER RESERVEMANN"; "RESERVE HAT RUH"; and "DRRTREU GEDIENT HAT SEINE ZEITLEM SEI EIN VOLLES GLAS GEWEIHT". The cover manage is the royal lion rapant holding a crowned shield. The porcelain stein body has transfer ware images, like cartoon panels, on either side. One side shows the infantry on night guard, walking with a lady, and weapons practice. The other side reveals them cooking over an open fire, marking a map in an office, and firing as a program on charging cavalry. The center panel has the royal crest, resting on infantry equipment, flanked by an infantry guy and the lion. Light through all-time low of the stein shows an infantry guy kissing a wench. Beautiful condition, no chips or fractures. $35.
