A vintage Bulova 'Woody' Accutron with a 218 motion, designated "N3", showing 1973 manufacture. This is among the rarest Accutron enjoys Bulova ever made. It was in production for just about a year. Browsing the marketplace specifically for Accutrons, I saw lots of other designs, however none like this ... Certainly not in collectable condition. For the major collector wanting a 'Woody' in truly collectible condition, this is the one ... Don't miss it! Obviously 'Woody' is a nickname applied to this watch, not a name appointed by Bulova. The name describes the wood inlay on the bezel and matching bracelet. This watch is in beautiful initial condition with a gold plated bezel and the original matching Duchess bracelet with wood inlays (mahogany or rosewood?). Back of case states, "N3 ... Bulova 10 KT. ROLLED GOLD PLATE WATER RESISTANT GOLD ELECTRO PLATE BEZEL". Identification number is G303XX. This is a 1-owner watch ... I got it brand-new as a gift in 1974, and used it only in my workplace (after hours & week ends I wore a knock-around). When the initial battery offered, I took it to the same watchmaker who sold it to have it serviced & the battery changed. He gave me a 'loaner'-- a stainless steel Accutron with a blue dial. I found it to be a better visual match for my other jewelry, so purchased the loaner and mentioned to the watchmaker to leave the battery from the 'Woody' so I could save it. It has been in a safe almost 40 years now. I no more have the box and documentation. Just recently I took it to a watchmaker manufacturing plant qualified to service Accutrons; had it serviced & the battery changed (its 2nd battery) & expense me $175.00. The watch not just carries out as brand-new, however is clearly in definitely stunning condition (see pictures). It has a couple of shallow scratches on the crystal and back of the case (see photos). I was lured to have the jeweler polish them out, however will leave that choice to a brand-new owner. The photos will certainly confirm to the condition & speak for themselves.show contact details
