1862 Edition of Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables." This is most likely among the first editions and of the complete two volume set. It is shown and it was equated from the original French by Charles E. Wilbur. Modified and modified by Frederick Myrnon Cooper. They were released by A.L. Burt Company, Publishishers, 85-58 Duane Street New York. There is no copy write is offered. The only date it at the end of the Preface where 1862 is indicated. The books are usually in great condition for books that are 152 years of ages However the back and front difficult covers are in tact. The bindings show some wear of the ages. Volume I's bindings shows a little bit of wear however you can still make out the tittle, Victor Hugo's name and the Roman numeral which volume is which. You can likewise still see the ornamental design on the binding of gold leaves on a tree of kinds. Volume II shows more wear. Also the pages are edged in gold paint. The pages are somewhat yellowed with age. The two volumes can easily be checked out with out a possibility with out tearing the pages. I am asking $1200 these books or if you wish to make me a offer.
