Lead Guitar; Vintage 1989 Early Edition Charvel Charvette Model 200. This guitar is in amazing condition and comes with a magnificent hard case. I got it locally in 2005, and utilized it just two times (I compose tunes, and do not play lead), and all I can state is that that the notes were rather "true" up and down the neck. It is a 1989 Charvel Charvette Model 200. The identification number is # 000058. That suggests it was the 58th guitar of this model ever produced. Wayne Charvel was a technician for Fender in 1970s, and became famous for his modifications of Fender guitars - - so much so that he ultimately began his own lead guitar production company. He sold that business to Japan in 1986, and Japan continued manufacturing of the exact same MODELS till 1989. At that time Japan started presenting their OWN models-- lots of them-- and this is exactly what you are purchasing. "Made in Japan" is not a bad thing. They expanded the designs to record a much larger market audience. In this Model 200 they replaced the expensive Kahler tremolo (the product that extends the strings) with a more conventional product. COUNTRY of Manufacture: Japan.NAMEPLATE on Backside(says Ft Worth TX-- this puzzled the world as well ... so see the history link I gave you above.All this truly indicates is that it was both designed in Japan and Made in Japan.CONDITION Excellent.No apparent nicks or scratches.There is one non-obvious 1/4"nick (on the bottom edge)that I never saw till I simply now polished it (for the 3rd time )for sale. It was repainted over black, and exactly matchesthe body, making me suspicious that it was there when it left the plant-however who understands. PICKUPS: 3 Charvel pick-ups and a 5-way switch. TREMOLO. The Japanese, to save conserve costs, switched over far from Floyd Rose Tremolos. This is even more of a basic variety tremolo. I'm no specialist on this, so I'll leave it there. THE CASE: An actually good, excellent condition, difficult case with black felt within.The hard case is covered with a gig-bag-type-of fabric, and the only recognition is a made in Korea fabric-label. I presume the Japanese business already had connections with Korea (they ultimately moved the production to Korea), and got their early cases there. The USA made guitars had real turtle-shell"chainsaw"cases. Thus the case you are getting most likely (99 %)had the brand-new guitar. ************************************************************.
