Feel free to email me with questions.About:I believe this is what was once referred to as Bontrager's Back Rack Classic L in black. I have supplied an picture from the internet below, but the design of the rack where it attaches at the bottom is a bit different (far more robust on mine). Also, this rack attaches at the top with one center piece instead of two parts on the outside (the picture is unclear about this). The item just recently went out of production. The rack is designed to fit larger bikes (18" or bigger) with disc brakes and is adjustable. I believe it is rated to 50-55lbs and is compatible with Trek's interchange system as well as a wide variety of other bags and attachment systems including Arkel's new clamping system (I just went through a pannier hunt and can attest to this). Rack sells for $50 new and this specimen is in decent condition except for a couple of scratches and a little dirt. Aluminum construction if I am not mistaken.Why:I just purchased a set of Brick Lane panniers and, even though the bags fit just fine, I need a rack with a little more material between the bags and the wheels given Brick Lane's lack of structure and tendency to drift into the wheel. If my feet where a size smaller or my chainstays were a quarter inch or so longer, I wouldn't be having this issue, so don't let my experience deter you from this rack.
