He was the most traveled Pontiff in the history of the Catholic Church and paid his second visit to the United States in 1987, a more-than-week long trip.The simple yet elegant coin design shows his smile and love for America. On the front of the coin above the Popes head it states ?U.S. VISIT?, below his head it states ?POPE JOHN PAUL II? and on the right side the year ?1987? is stamped.
