ANTIQUE (1920-30s) HEDSTROM UNION CO. WICKER BABY CARRIAGE W / WINDOWS. This product is a remarkable early child carriage, made by Hedstrom Union Company. Research suggests that it is from the very early 1900s. The company was formed (see details. below) in 1915, and combined with the Union Company in 1922. It still has a partial label on the bottom of the seat, as well as a decal on the frame. It will make a terrific display piece, as is, or an excellent restoration task. Shuffleton, and Walter Beaman founded the Hedstrom Company, Gardner, Massachusets in 1915. The company moved numerous times in its early years, lastly finding on Main Street in 1925. AS MOST ITEMS THAT ARE 100 YEARS OLD, THIS PIECE HAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE WICKER IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, IT HAS BOTH GLASS WINDOWS (ONE PIECE REPLACED), ALL HANDLES, KNOBS, AND MECHANICS WORK WELL. THE FABRIC IS IN GOOD-VG CONDITION, WITH A FEW WEAR MARKS AND RIPS. THE FRAME IS WELL AGED, WITH PATINA RUST, BUT IS STRAIGHT AND SOUND. THE FRONT WHEELS HAVE GOOD RUBBER, WHILE THE BACK WHEEL RUBBER IS IN POOR CONDITION.
