REAL Old West Poker Table.Rate: Hopefully Somebody Will Offer Enough to Assuage My Guilt. This is a poker table that when sat in Cattleman Kate's Saloon in Baker, OR, back in the days of gold disallows and hurries. It was purchased from the tavern by my Great Grandpa, who used it in his cabin (cabin in this use means one room shack built at greater altitudes of home where one would stay while chopping fire wood for winter). It is not in pretty shape, I know, however it is really quite cool.Cattleman Kate's utilized to serve the McCarty Gang, see: http://offbeatoregon.com/1307a-mccarty-gang-bonanza-gone-wrong.html.E.C. "Eck" McCarty is known to have actually stabbed someone in the eye with a curl in Cattleman Kate's, and it is stated it was over a poker video game. This may be the really table. I have no idea if it was, of course, but it could have been. , if you look at the pictures you discover that there is an odd thin rectangular shape on the table top and a locking drawer under the table.. In the the drinkery your home take would be dropped through a rectangular slit, which was filled out by Great Grandpa, and dropped into the locked drawer. The drawer does still move. I do not have the secret to the lock.
