This gorgeous and grand old safe was constructed by The Hall's Safe Company. We have no idea how old it is. We got it from the Waking Owl Bookstore near the U when they closed numerous years ago. We still love this old safe, it is too heavy to go down our old house's rickety stairs into the basement office. So it's been in the garage considering that we purchased it years ago, hidden by admiring eyes. Unfortunate. The door outside is painted, as is the interior. The outside was scraped prior to we got it. Rumor has it that it was involved in a bank burglary - however that's only a report! The floor is carpeted with a tapestry, albeit a bit worn. We have the mix and the safe does easily lock/unlock. This beauty weighs in at about 800 pounds. It's on wheels; it will certainly roll. The wheels are set so that the safe only rolls left to. The wheels do not pivot. Purchaser will certainly need to be prepared to load and move it to its new home or organize with a professional mover to transport it.
