Antique 19th Century Oil Painting on Masonite w / Gold Frame. Dimensions (Painting): 36" x 24".Measurements (Frame): 44" x 32". This is an initial oil on Masonite painting signed L. Weston. It is signed L. Weston, but is actually by the Canadian artist James L. Weston. He used his middle initial and surname to sign. This painter was living from 1815 - 1896. Connected to his information: http://www.askart.com/askart/w/james_l_weston/james_l_weston.aspx. It is roughly 150 years old approximately. The frame is most likely about 100 years old and was framed by a fine art shop in New York. You can inform the frame is extremely old just by looking at the back of the painting. It likewise has the framer's details on the back with paper that looks like it was typed on a typewriter. The frame is strong wood with plaster on top. The plaster was utilized to make the fantastic decors on the frame as you can see in the images. The plaster has small undetectable fractures right here and there, but no where is that broken. There is two places where a percentage of plaster fell off (shown in pictures), but I got a quote from some art store to fix it when we were living in Pennsylvania to match the remainder of the frame and they estimated $90. This is an antique painting of an understood artist that will just go up in value. Rate is rather firm. Cash only and you need to pick it up.
