We even thought about putting it right in the middle of our establishment as a discussion piece since the bakers use it early in the morning, but decided to include more seating instead. The S-601 has 3 speeds. Turn machine off before changing speeds. Needs lubricant regularly. There are dining establishments in our location that have comparable or older Hobarts. They all leak lube a little with use (and have considering that they were made in the 1950's) & the majority of food purveyors carry the food-grade lube. There is a window on the side to see oil level. You need to raise or decrease the bowl with the wheel to wanted depth. Cheese grater works wonderful & we utilize it every day. We had a small crack in the cast aluminum, however had it bonded (see photo). Notice that the base has actually been welded. The cast iron had a hairline fracture. The base has been bonded by an expert welder who focuses on welding cast iron. It has been welded from the top and from all-time low while raised on a lift. The mechanics have actually been checked by specialists at Phoenix Used Restaurant Equipment, and any necessary repairs were made prior to we purchased. Their service warranty has actually expired, but we haven't had any problems. These workhorses appear to last forever and parts are still readily available online.
