Description:
Original popcorn vending machine-used to give hot popcorn - NOT MAKE POPCORN. The machine, initially selling popcorn for 10 cents, is in excellent vintage condition for its age. Label on back reads Gold Medal Automatic Popcorn Serial No. 2711 120 volts, 150 watts 50-60 cycles. Model No. 100. Offered by Gold Medal Products Company, Inc., Cincinnati Ohio USA".It is constructed of a maroon painted metal base with a clear plastic seeing location which holds the heated popcorn. Entire unit determines approx. 61" tall. Base measures approx. 17" x 16". Clear acrylic holder has a frame of approx. 21" x 22" and is approx. 14" tall (part of the overall height of 61"). Coin system accepts 1 penny or 2 nickels. When I last used this in 1974, Electric, heater and bulb work as well as coin mechanism. It has been in storage because. The initial cord is worn away and can not be plugged in till a brand-new cord is changed (by the new owner). One initial secret included. There is rust around base, near the floor, (maybe from floor cleaning?). Some surface rust below the chute and patches of rust on the body. Ideally all these defects are visible in our pictures. This is an excellent restorable device.
