Vintage Helmut Finke Hand Horn in F/E/EbPlease read the entire description, and the AUCTION TERMS below, BEFORE bidding!Greetings! For your consideration I offer this valveless natural French horn (hand horn) by Helmut Finke of Cologne, probably built in the 1960s. Finke was among the first modern makers to produce valveless natural trumpets and horns, at the early stages of the Early Music revival. This instrument is constructed of Yellow Brass with German Silver trim. It is pitched in F, with crooks for E and E-flat. The design is not patterned after any historic baroque or classical natural horns, and the bell and throat are smaller than those typically found on original baroque and classical period hand horns. I am selling this instrument on behalf of the widow of its most recent owner, my friend Loyal Mitchell of Whitesboro, NY. Loyal owned this instrument for many years. He was highly respected as a gifted musician, playing horn, baritone, tuba, and other instruments, and was a music teacher in the Utica NY school district. He was also a brass instrument collector with a large and interesting collection.CONDITION: Very good overall, with some minor dings and scratches here, and there and a pretty good dent in the bell branch, which you'll want to have removed.
